Weird looks and ugly gray paint hide one of the best creations of the Soviet automobile industry - GAZ M20 Pobeda! Lack of space in the garage doesn't let you see more. So first thing you'll need to do is getting the car out for a closer inspection.

— In-game description

The GAZ SG-1 "Pobeda" is an interactive world object in ATOM RPG.

Description[]

Plank cheese 01
  • Section expansion required
  • This section is too short to provide more than rudimentary information about the subject.

The Pobeda is the player character's personal vehicle.

Characteristics[]

?

Location[]

Old Scrapyard south-west of Krasnoznamenny. Populated by large number of mutants.

Acquisition[]

Plank vacuum cleaner
Issue: This section contains a description of the Repair Pobeda unmarked quest. Please help by relocating any relevant information in the proper article.

Remove the mutants[]

Take it by force[]

You can try to kill all of the mutants yourself. However to help the player there's a quest to forcefully remove the mutants which provides a lot of support manpower. It is given by a soldier standing by the Lenin statue in Krasnoznamenny outside the Chamber of Commerce (he is not always there however, likely appears at level 10).

  • Note: You can finish the quest peacefully (with a Barter or Speechcraft check), but you'll still have to remove them - now without support (if you want the car).

Peaceful alternative[]

Buy the location from the inhabiting it mutants for 120 000 RUB, which will evict them.

Repair the vehicle[]

This involves checks: Luck, 2×Technology, Attention (alternative), the second technology check requires more than 80.

Note: Trying to start up the car too many times during the repair may result in a lethal explosion, and instant death.

Usage[]

  • The car is able to travel at a much faster speed than the player walking on the world map
  • Hostile random encounters are much easier to avoid in the car, all having a 99% chance to evade regardless of the player's survival skill.
  • The vehicle also has a trunk that player can store their items in, it has no weight limit.
  • It's only available to drive on the main world map, not in the Mountain pass of Woes or the Dead City.

Refueling[]

  • The vehicle has a fuel tank with a max capacity of 55 liters.
  • Fuel can be purchased specifically from the truck caravaneers, who will offer in increments up to 20 liters for 400 RUB, working out to 20 RU per liter.
    • The player is able to purchase an unlimited amount of fuel from the caravaneers. Some of those caravaneers, however, may not spare fuel for sale saying that they don't have enough for themselves.
    • When purchased in this way the gasoline is deposited directly into the car, not given as inventory items. The car does not actually have to be with you either; the fuel will be deposited wherever it is on the world map.
    • The Filling station fortress has a locker with 50 fuel, it's all unowned and free to be taken.
    • Aside from random encounters truck caravanners can often be found often at the Filling station fortress, located in the center of the map. A truck will be parked outside with guards, and the merchant will be sitting by the center camp fire.
  • The player can also refuel 1-liter, 5-liter, 10-liter or 20-liter at the time with bottles of gasoline.
